~Contributing to the Realization of a Carbon-Neutral Society by Capturing and Reusing CO₂ Using the Membrane Separation Method~
OOYOO Ltd. (Headquarters: Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto, President: Yoshio Namiki, hereinafter referred to as “OOYOO”) is pleased to announce that we have entered into a basic agreement for the mass production of CO₂ separation membranes for the purpose of separating and reusing CO₂ with TOPPAN Holdings Inc. (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Hideharu Maro, hereinafter referred to as “TOPPAN Holdings”)
In order to provide the CO₂ separation membrane developed by OOYOO to the market, the two companies will promote the development of technology for mass production.
In recent years, technology for separating and capturing CO₂ for the purpose of reducing greenhouse gases has been attracting attention. There are several methods for CO₂ separation, but OOYOO is developing a membrane separation method*1 that is superior in terms of minimize space and low cost.
By combining OOYOO’s world-leading, high-performance CO₂ separation membrane (OOYOO Membrane*2) technology with TOPPAN Holdings’ surface processing technology and manufacturing know-how cultivated through film manufacturing, we will accelerate technological development for mass production.
By using this CO₂ separation membrane to separate and capture CO₂ contained in exhaust gas from factories and process gases, and reuse it as a resource for the production of carbon dioxide gas, fertilizer, dry ice, chemical products, and fuels, we will contribute to the establishment of carbon recycling technology and contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral society.
*1 A technology that uses a thin film to separate CO₂ from emitted gases. It is space-saving and inexpensive.
*2 This is a CO₂ separation membrane developed by OOYOO using its proprietary technology. OOYOO continues to innovate the new generation of world-class CO₂ separation membranes.
